Skydeck Receives Series A Investment from Saban Ventures

Wireless Industry Veteran Craig Cooper Joins Skydeck Board
LOS ANGELES -- Skydeck, the online service that helps consumers keep track of their mobile phone calls, their text messages, and the people that they call and text, and Saban Ventures, the venture capital arm of Saban Capital Group, Inc. (SCG), a private investment firm specializing in the media, entertainment and communications industries, today announced that the firm has made an investment in Skydeck's Series A financing.
Skydeck has raised $4 million to date, including $1 million in a previously undisclosed angel round. The new capital will be used to accelerate delivering Skydeck's current online service to various mobile devices.
Along with the investment, Craig Cooper, Managing Director of Saban Ventures, will be joining Skydeck's Board of Directors. Cooper brings over 15 years experience investing in, directing and running a number of technology and media companies, including mobile-focused companies like Thumbplay, YouMail and EBT Mobile China PLC. Cooper was also recently a Venture Partner at VantagePoint Venture Partners and was a founding Partner in the SoftBank Capital Technology Fund. Prior to that he co-founded Boost Mobile USA, which was sold to Nextel in 2003.
