U.S. Army Reserve and ManTech International Launch Recruiting Partnership
Business Wire, Sept 29, 2008
FAIRFAX, Va. -- The U.S. Army Reserve and ManTech International Corporation (Nasdaq:MANT) today announced the launch of a unique employer partnership that will allow both organizations to recruit, train and employ young people interested in serving the nation and pursuing a career in information technology. ManTech, a leading national security company which recently was named by BusinessWeek magazine as one of the top 100 information technology companies in the world, became the first company on the list to enter into a recruiting partnership with the Army Reserve.
Recognizing that the Army Reserve and ManTech are drawing from a similar dynamic workforce, the agreement between the Army Reserve and the company provides for shared recruitment efforts. Per the agreement, ManTech and the Army Reserve have agreed to cross-promote job opportunities. The agreement will also secure interviews for qualified Army Reserve Soldiers who apply for open positions at the company. The Employer Partnership has the potential to reduce costs associated with recruitment, training and health care for both organizations.
"Joining with this industry leader as an Employer Partner is a huge win for the U.S. Army Reserve and our Soldiers," Lt. Gen. Jack C. Stultz, Chief, Army Reserve, and Commanding General, U.S. Army Reserve Command, said. "ManTech is consistently recognized as a patriotic employer, and we are grateful to them for their steadfast support and recognition of our Soldiers. We look forward to collaborating with them on this joint venture to strengthen our shared workforce."
"ManTech places high value on natural leaders with mission-critical, national security experience - core qualities of U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers. We have hundreds of career openings supporting national security, many of which could be a good fit for Reserve Soldiers," said George J. Pedersen, Chairman of the Board and CEO, ManTech International Corporation.
ManTech is well known as an attractive employer for veterans. In 2006 and 2007 the company was named a Top 10 Military Friendly Employer by G.I. Jobs magazine.
The Employer Partnership Initiative seeks to formalize the relationship between the Army Reserve and employers who are sharing a similar workforce. It establishes a process whereby employers and the Army Reserve may secure and share the talents of trained professionals. Partners such as ManTech will benefit from the employment of men and women with Army values, experience and proven leadership skills.
Since its inception in April, the initiative has recruited many enthusiastic business partners including Sears Holdings Corporation, CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc., Northrop Grumman Corporation, American Trucking Associations, USAA, Con-way Freight, Schneider National Inc., the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, D.C., the Cleveland Clinic, and Inova Health System. More than 300 national, regional and local businesses and agencies are in the process of formalizing a partnership with the Army Reserve.
