U.S. Photo Industry 2009: Review and Forecast Report Says Custom Photo Services Are off to a Good Start, but Big Opportunities Are Still Untapped

JACKSON, Mich. -- PMA – The Worldwide Community of Imaging Associations announces the availability of the U.S. Photo Industry 2009: Review and Forecast Report. This report is a useful tool to give retailers and photo labs an idea of what is going on in the industry and what is expected in the near future. The report is designed to aid firms in business planning. It consists of a brief overview of the major photo categories such as digital cameras, digital printing, photo books, other custom items, as well as, home digital printing consumables in addition to some forecasts.

Available from the marketing research area of the PMA website (www.pmai.org), the basic report is free to members. Non-members of PMA may buy the report for $99. Media members can contact PMA for a copy of the report. A premium version of this report, containing more charts regarding DSLR sales, adoption of digital cameras, memory cards, digital frames, home photo printers, and online prices for prints and custom products and more, will be available in March. The PMA member premium edition will be $149, and the PMA non-member premium edition will be $249.
