Fulwider Patton LLP Announces David Pitman and Scott Hansen Have Been Named Partners; Yasmine O. Abdel-Aal Joins the Firm

LOS ANGELES -- Fulwider Patton LLP is pleased to announce that David Pitman and Scott Hansen have been named partners in the firm.

Mr. Pitman joined Fulwider Patton LLP in 1997 as an Associate. He is a member of the California Bar and is a registered Patent Attorney; his practice focuses on patent prosecution and litigation in the mechanical and electromechanical arts and medical devices. Mr. Pitman is a member of the South African Counsel of Professional Engineers. Mr. Pitman graduated from the University of Witwatersrand School of Law in Johannesburg in 1987, after receiving his B.S. (Engineering) in 1975 from the University of Cape Town and Master's Degree (Economics) in 1979 from the University of Oxford.

Prior to joining Fulwider, Mr. Pitman was an associate at Latham & Watkins.

Mr. Hansen, Of Counsel to Fulwider Patton LLP since 2003, has joined the partnership. He is a member of the California Bar and is a registered Patent Attorney. Mr. Hansen's practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, prosecution and licensing.

Mr. Hansen graduated with honors from the Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington in 1992, after receiving his B.S. (Political Science and Applied Mechanics) from the University of California, San Diego in 1985 and his M.S. (Mechanical Engineering) in 1987 from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Prior to joining Fulwider, Mr. Hansen was a partner at Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly LLP.

Mr. Hansen is a past recipient of a Volunteer of the Year award from the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law for his extensive pro bono work on behalf of low-income clients in Los Angeles. He is active in the Intellectual Property Section of the State Bar of California, currently serving as Chair of the Litigation Committee.

Ms. Abdel-Aal recently joined Fulwider as an associate attorney. Ms. Abdel-Aal is a member of the California State Bar, American Bar Association and American Intellectual Property Law Association. Ms. Abdel-Aal's current practice includes the preparation and prosecution of patent and trademark applications in a variety of disciplines.

Ms. Abdel-Aal graduated from Whittier Law School in 2008, after receiving her B.S. (Biological Sciences) in 2005 from the University of California, Irvine.

Prior to joining Fulwider, Ms. Abdel-Aal was a legal extern at Biosensors International where she assisted senior in-house counsel in the preparation of medical device patents.
