itaas Broadens Support for Time Warner Cable's Application Developers
Business Wire, March 10, 2009
ATLANTA -- itaas Inc., the leading provider of multi-platform solutions for MSOs, programmers and interactive application developers, today announced the expansion of its relationship with Time Warner Cable in supporting the development of new interactive applications. Developers seeking to launch applications for deployment in Time Warner Cable systems can now access Mystro Application Server (MAS) software support through the itaas istart Developer Program. In this new, broader relationship with Time Warner Cable, itaas will manage the licensing, installation and upgrades for the MAS software as well as offer Software Development Kits (SDKs) for Mystro Digital Navigator (MDN) and OCAP Digital Navigator (ODN). itaas now provides a central source for all application development needs on Time Warner Cable’s MDN and ODN platforms.
Now in its sixth year, the istart program continues to offer tools and support for deployment on all major interactive platforms including tru2way™ and ETV. With the Time Warner Cable Mystro Application Server software support, the istart Developer Program now offers a total of six programs including SDKs for Time Warner Cable's MDN and ODN, Cisco’s SARA/PowerTV© and OCAP Axiom™, as well as the TVWorks ETV platform. Programmers and application developers also turn to itaas for their interactive application expertise from initial concept through architecture, design, development, integration and testing across multiple devices.
“While we have supported the Mystro Application Server install and upgrades for our development partners in the past, we are looking forward to having itaas assume this role moving forward. We are confident in their ability to support application development on the Time Warner Cable platform,” said Sherisse Hawkins, VP Software Engineering of Time Warner Cable.
“We are excited to be the central source for Time Warner Cable’s application development platform with the addition of the backend server component to the existing MDN and ODN client offerings,” said Jatin Desai, Chief Technology Officer of itaas. “With significant iTV deployments expected this year, and a growing awareness of the need to reach consumers with compelling interactive content, we have seen increased interest in the istart program from traditional and non traditional sources.”
