Teradici and Amulet Hotkey Partner on New PC-Over-IP Remoting Solution for Next-Gen Trader Workstations
Business Wire, April 02, 2009
-- Remote PCoIP Trader Workstations Provides Secure, Efficient Solution to Global Financial Markets --
BURNABY, British Columbia -- Teradici® Corporation, the industry leader in delivering a true PC experience over standard IP networks, and Amulet Hotkey, the leading solutions provider for financial markets and multi-nationals, today announced a partnership to integrate Teradici’s PC-over-IP® (PCoIP®) technology into Amulet Hotkey’s new remote quad-monitor blade workstation solution.
The advanced PCoIP remoting capability will provide a new level of efficiency and security for Amulet Hotkey customers and clients, reducing heat and noise in the trading center and improving system security by moving sensitive data to one central location, and restricting access to removable storage devices. The Amulet Hotkey remote quad-monitor trader solution with PCoIP technology also will simplify IT management and reduce cost of adds, moves, and changes for users.
“PC-over-IP is the most innovative solution for remote computing, and a natural extension of the analog and digital KVM technology that Amulet Hotkey has deployed so successfully,” said Andrew Jackson, president, Amulet Hotkey. “The new PCoIP blade solution enables a trader to operate a workstation from hundreds to thousands of miles away, a major advantage in today’s global trading markets and other applications.”
“PCoIP technology removes the distance and security limitations that have characterized remote computing until now,” said Dan Cordingley, president and CEO, Teradici Corporation. “The partnership with Amulet Hotkey to integrate PCoIP technology into a blade workstation delivers a full remote user experience in a powerful and robust solution for financial institutions worldwide.”
Transatlantic PCoIP Demonstration at the “Seeing is Believing” Event in New York and London
The new trader blade workstation with PCoIP remoting capabilities is being demonstrated this week at the invitation-only “Seeing is Believing” event in Amulet Hotkey’s New York City and London offices. A transatlantic New York-to-London network link demonstrating Teradici’s PCoIP WAN capabilities will be part of the demonstration, along with a preview of Teradici’s high-performance desktop virtualization roadmap.
About PC-over-IP Technology
Teradici's PC-over-IP technology is a new remote computing technology that enables companies to centralize their PCs or workstations and still provide users with an uncompromised, high-performance desktop experience. The technology uses a chipset that compresses and encodes the entire PC experience at the data center and transmits it over a standard IP network to a stateless, driverless desktop “portal”. Users can work with their PC or workstation as they did before – including all applications, graphics and multimedia functions – even if the computer is located in a data center miles away.
