ProUroCare Medical to Showcase Innovative Prostate Imaging Device at 2009 AUA Annual Scientific Meeting

Business Wire, April 15, 2009

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- ProUroCare Medical Inc. (OTCBB: PUMD), announced today it will be attending the American Urological Association (AUA) Annual Scientific Meeting in Chicago, IL, being held April 25-30, 2009, at McCormick Place, and will exhibit in Booth # 1233.

ProUroCare plans to showcase its ProUroScan system, a patented-imaging system designed to provide a map of the prostate and to store a digital image for review. As an adjunctive tool to a digital rectal exam (DRE), this first generation system aids the physician in visualizing and documenting abnormalities in the prostate previously detected by a DRE. The data acquired allows the calculation of prostate features such as size and shape. In addition to the real-time visual image, the results are stored electronically, allowing for comparison of the abnormality’s changes over time.

“We look forward to this opportunity to highlight our ProUroScan system and its significant capabilities for urologists and healthcare professionals at the AUA Annual Meeting,” stated Rick Carlson, ProUroCare’s Chief Executive Officer. “We believe the ProUroScan system, when used for basic mapping and data maintenance will be regulated as a Class II device and cleared through a 510(k) application. Our protocol calls for a 40-patient clinical trial involving participation by four different physicians. In addition to the recently completed initial study, a second physician has nearly completed his patient trials, and two more are expected to begin their studies in the near future,” concluded Mr. Carlson.

The AUA Annual Scientific Meeting is the largest meeting of urologic professionals in the world and is attended by more than 10,000 urologists and healthcare professionals. This year, more than 2,000 abstracts will be presented and more than 300 exhibitors will showcase their products and services in the Science and Technology Hall.
