Global Information Technology Awards Foundation Pays Tribute to Individuals and Organizations that Use Information Technology to Benefit Society

IRVINE, Calif. -- Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ:EPIC), today announced that Apogee Enterprises, an Epicor customer and leading manufacturer of distinctive value-added glass solutions for enclosing commercial buildings and framing art, has been named as a 2009 Laureate by IDG’s Computerworld Honors Program. This year’s Laureate class will be commemorated during the 21st Annual Laureate Medal Ceremony and Gala Awards Evening, June 1, 2009, as honorees gather at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. Established in 1988, Computerworld Honors acknowledges innovative use of information technology (IT), recognizing projects that use technology to benefit society.

Nominated by Epicor for its innovative enterprise systems modernization initiative, Apogee is the parent company of six affiliates which engineer, fabricate, install and repair the walls of glass and windows that enclose buildings, drastically improving energy efficiency, as well as providing hurricane and blast protection. Apogee’s initiative, which implemented Epicor’s True SOA ™-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, provided a common-model for back offices and IT tools across each of Apogee’s independent business units.

“Epicor is very pleased to see our customer receive this prestigious recognition for their achievements,” said Jim Bork, senior vice president of worldwide sales for Epicor. “It is a privilege to partner with companies like Apogee - who provide innovative, practical solutions that improve energy efficiency and extend benefit to society as a whole - to help make their business processes more efficient and easier to manage.”

The Computerworld Honors Program unites Chairmen and CEOs of the world’s foremost information technology companies to recognize the most outstanding user achievements in technology each year. The technology achievements honored by the program are preserved in national archives, and in over 350 universities, museum and research institutions throughout the world.

Each year, members of the Chairmen’s Committee, a group of 100 Chairmen and CEOs of global technology companies, nominates individuals and organizations around the world whose visionary applications of information technology promote positive social and economic progress.

Independent of the Laureate recognition, the Computerworld Honors Program also annually presents its Leadership Awards, each designed to honor the extraordinary achievements of selected individuals whose positive contributions to the IT revolution have left an indelible mark on the world.

“Each year, the Computerworld Honors Program seeks to recognize organizations, from a variety of sectors, for their ongoing efforts to utilize technology in order to benefit society,” said Ron Milton, chairman of the board of trustees with the Computerworld Information Technology Awards Foundation and executive vice president of Computerworld. “We are proud to provide a platform to publicly acknowledge these contributions.”
