MCLEAN, Va. & BARCELONA, Spain -- ZyLAB, an innovative developer of Information Access Solutions, today announced that its President, Dr. Johannes Scholtes, will present at the June 8th Global E-Discovery/E-Disclosure Workshop: A Pre-Conference Workshop at the 12th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Law taking place at Casa Convalescència in Barcelona. Dr. Scholtes will present on the topic of text mining as it relates to today’s e-discovery and e-disclosure requirements, facilitate a lunch-time discussion and then participate on the end-of-day panel to discuss his insights about the future of search issues in the e-discovery space.
This year, the workshop will emphasize e-discovery and e-disclosure problems in an international context, such as information retrieval within both civil and common law jurisdictions, including dealing with text in non-host jurisdiction languages and in connection with cross-border litigation subject to varying rules of procedure and practice. This one-day event is being hosted by several of the world’s most recognized thought leaders in the field including Kevin D. Ashley, University of Pittsburgh School of Law; Jason R. Baron, National Archives and Records Administration; Jack G. Conrad, Thomson Reuters Research & Development; Marc Light, Thomson Reuters Research & Development; and Debra Logan, Gartner Inc.
“It is an honor to be invited to participate at one of the most prestigious and exclusive e-discovery events,” said Johannes Scholtes, President of ZyLAB. “Although changes in the legal world are always evolutions and never revolutions, there is certainly a potential role for text-mining in e-discovery and e-disclosure. I look forward to imparting my knowledge of this topic on to the attendees.”
