Pegasystems’ advanced Business Process Management (BPM) technology provides greater agility and increased automation to help transform health information and transaction management
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Pegasystems Inc., (NASDAQ: PEGA), the leader in Business Process Management (BPM) software solutions, today announced that CSC (NYSE: CSC) has selected Pegasystems’ Build for Change® technology to provide critical system functions to the new Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) for North Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Pegasystems’ technology will provide the ability to respond quickly to legislative and programmatic changes, and improve service to North Carolina’s Medicaid recipients and providers. The North Carolina MMIS will provide claims processing, automated workflow, standardized reporting and analytics, and a secure Web portal for use by providers in performing claims entry and eligibility verification.
“We selected Pegasystems because of its BPM technology and proven healthcare framework, which will help us to provide North Carolina with a more agile system,” said Thomas P. Anderson, president of CSC’s North American Public Sector Civil and Health Services group. “Today’s technology can deliver measurable improvements such as overall efficiency, cost containment and better customer service. It is critical that our state agencies have access to the latest leading technology so they can help improve programs that service our citizens.”
In addition, the North Carolina MMIS will include service processes for providers, tailored service interactions, work automation for improved efficiencies, enhanced scripting to guide manual work and improve quality, and rapid development of ongoing service enhancements.
“CSC is a leader in IT services for the healthcare industry and we are pleased to have been chosen by them for such an important public service program,” said Elizabeth Hart, senior director, Healthcare Solutions for Pegasystems. “CSC has a vision for North Carolina’s MMIS that will benefit the citizens served by the North Carolina DHHS. CSC brings a wealth of experience that will make the transition from the legacy system to the new, improved one seamless, and Pegasystems is proud to contribute technology to help make this vision a reality.”
