CompUSA Hosts as AMD Breaks World Record for AMD Phenom™ II Processor Frequency

AMD Phenom™ II Processor clocks in at a World Record 6.93 GHz at Event at CompUSA Miami-Dadeland Store
MIAMI -- AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) engineers, hosted by CompUSA, broke the overclocking world record for quad core x86 processor frequency at the at the Miami-Dadeland CompUSA retail store on May 26th. The team used liquid nitrogen and liquid helium cooling to reach 6.93 GHz on an AMD Phenom™ II X4 955 Black Edition Quad Core Processor, as measured using the CPU-Z utility.* The 6.93 GHz speed topped the previous world record for AMD Phenom II quad-core processors of 6.89 GHz.
The event, “Overclocking World-Record Breaking Attempt” was streamed live on ComputerTV (http://com.puter.tv) and simulcast to other CompUSA stores throughout the country. Two hundred serious technology enthusiasts and PC gamers witnessed the record breaking attempt in-person at the CompUSA store, while thousands more tuned in online.
