State Auto Recognized for Technology Leadership
Business Wire, June 05, 2009
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The State Auto Insurance Companies have once again been recognized for their efforts to help independent insurance agencies do business faster and more efficiently.
State Auto was presented the “ACORD Innovative Implementation” award at the ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum, held in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., May 17-19. The insurer was recognized for its work in the area of bridging technologies, which allow agency management systems and third party rating applications to interface with State Auto’s agency extranet, AgentSite.
“We have embraced a service oriented architecture (SOA) approach using our ACORD standards throughout our agency interface connect points,” said State Auto Director of Application Development Leo Genders. “As a result, we’ve been able to quickly roll out technology to meet the demands of our agency partners and internal business customers. Without the industry standards that ACORD gives us, much of this would simply not be feasible.”
“We congratulate State Auto on receiving this award and applaud them for their leadership,” said ACORD Senior Vice President John Kellington. “State Auto shows how vital ACORD data standards are for improving data flow and consistency.”
