Ulmer & Berne LLP Partner Timothy J. Downing to Serve on the Ohio State Bar Association’s Advisory Council on Diversity Initiatives

CLEVELAND -- Timothy J. Downing, a partner with Ulmer & Berne LLP, has recently been appointed to serve on the Ohio State Bar Association’s Advisory Council on Diversity.
The primary charge for the Advisory Council on Diversity Initiatives is to enhance diversity in the legal profession which is an important goal to the Ohio State Bar Association. The Council will coordinate, enhance, and implement the Association’s diversity efforts to promote the full and equal participation in the legal profession by minorities, women, persons with disabilities, and persons of differing sexual orientation and gender identities.
As a partner with Ulmer & Berne, Mr. Downing has been helping companies for over 20 years to develop and implement policies to attract top employees, protect their confidential information, resolve conflicts with suppliers and vendors and when necessary, defend companies when sued either by vendors or suppliers or employees who claim to have been discriminated against on the basis of age, race, sex, disability or sexual orientation. He is a frequent speaker before, and leader in, many state and national professional associations and serves in leadership positions on the Boards of Directors of several organizations, including the Cleveland Film Society, the Great Lakes Theater Festival, the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio and the Human Rights Campaign.
