NHI invests $3.9 million in mortgage loan

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- National Health Investors, Inc. (NYSE:NHI) announced today it has purchased a discounted first mortgage loan for $3.9 million which is collateralized by a 70-bed assisted living facility in Minnesota. The loan matures in February 2018. The average annual yield on the loan if held to maturity exceeds 12%. “We are pleased to have made this opportunistic investment backed by a solid underlying asset,” stated Justin Hutchens, NHI President and Chief Operating Officer.
