Tours, Expected to Attract 10,000 Visitors, Will Be Available This Fall

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. -- Seawatch at Sunset Harbor and Mark Saunders Luxury Homes have selected Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina to receive donations from tour proceeds of the 2009 Coastal Living Idea House. After completion this summer, the Seawatch Idea House, built by Mark Saunders Luxury Homes, will be featured in the Nov. 2009 issue of Coastal Living Magazine.

Mark Saunders, CEO of The Coastal Companies, parent company of Seawatch, Coastal Construction and Mark Saunders Luxury Homes, said “We are extremely pleased to have Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina as the designated charity for the Idea House.”

Volunteers from Boys and Girls Homes will be on-hand to help give tours through the home, which will be available Thurs.–Sat. 11 a.m.–6 p.m., Sunday 1–5 p.m., or by special group appointment beginning Sept. 3.

A private non-sectarian, not-for-profit agency, Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina provides a family environment for as long as is necessary and practical for at-risk children needing an out-of-home setting. Located on the shores of Lake Waccamaw in southeastern N.C., the Homes provide shelter, food, clothing, education, emotional support and moral, ethical and spiritual guidance for at-risk children. The Homes Foster Care and Adoption Program also serves children in seventeen southeastern NC counties and continues to expand. As Boys and Girls Homes approaches its 55th year of service, more than 3,800 children from across the state have benefited.
