— New eBeam Interact Software Adds eBeam Wireless Tablets and Document Camera Capabilities for Macintosh Computers —
SAN CARLOS, Calif. -- Luidia, Inc., the award-winning developer of eBeam® interactive whiteboard technology for classrooms and conference rooms, today announced the release of its latest software optimized for use with Apple Inc.’s Macintosh® computers.
Luidia’s new eBeam Mac Interact™ 1.3 software now provides full support for the company’s Inscribe 200e wireless tablet, which allows users to draw, perform mouse functions, add notes to interactive whiteboard displays and interact with software applications from anywhere in a conference room, classroom or large meeting space. Apple’s handwriting recognition technology, Ink, also can now be used with the Inscribe 200e. Furthermore, the new software allows Mac computers to use Luidia’s Focus 150 document cameras to view and capture digital snapshots of text, objects, even people and other real-world material for instant display or import into presentations and other multimedia projects.
“Luidia continues to expand its support for Apple’s popular Macintosh computing platform,” says Rafi Holtzman, CEO of Luidia. “By allowing Mac users to enjoy two more of our most popular supplemental products, we’re demonstrating our continued commitment to making our full suite of interactive whiteboard technology available to the widest possible audience.”
The new software’s intuitive interface takes full advantage of Apple’s user-friendly graphical operating system and benefits from the accuracy, high resolution and fast response of Luidia’s newly introduced eBeam Edge™ receiver and stylus. It also offers additional ways for users to create and organize content within the eBeam Scrapbook™ environment, including page reordering and manipulation of text and graphic objects with the click of a mouse.
Luidia’s eBeam Mac Interact™ 1.3 software will debut at the 2009 National Educational Computing Conference, June 28 through July 1, 2009, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, D.C. in booth 1336.
