NESIC Inks Distribution Partnership to Integrate Acme Packet Net-Net SBCs into Service Provider and Large Enterprise Networks
BURLINGTON, Mass. -- Acme Packet® (NASDAQ: APKT), the leader in session border control solutions, today announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with NEC Networks & Systems Integration Corp. (NESIC, TSE: 1973), a total network solutions provider covering network integration, support services and telecommunications engineering. As part of the agreement, NESIC will offer Acme Packet’s Net-Net® session border controllers (SBCs) as key elements in the company’s network integration solution for service providers, enterprises and government. NESIC provides complete network integration services that include network planning, consulting, design, construction, maintenance, network operation, monitoring and outsourcing services worldwide.
Acme Packet’s Net-Net SBCs will enable NESIC to better serve to its diverse customer base of IP communications service providers and enterprises. Acme Packet’s Net-Net SBCs secure the subscriber access and interconnect/peering borders in next-generation, fixed and mobile, service provider networks. Acme Packet SBCs also enable the interoperability of heterogeneous endpoints, service infrastructure elements and networks to maximize service reach. In enterprise networks and contact centers, Acme Packet’s Net-Net SBCs secure the infrastructure delivering VoIP and unified communications. Acme Packet SBCs also secure the borders to the service provider IP network, the private VPN connecting major enterprise or contact center sites and the Internet. In addition, SBCs enable the interoperability of both legacy IP-PBX equipment and next-generation unified communications platforms.
“At NESIC, we are constantly updating our product and services portfolio to increase our customers’ value using the most technologically-advanced products available,” said Koshiro Konno, Senior Vice President and Member of the Board for NESIC. “With Acme Packet SBCs now an essential part of NESIC’s overall service infrastructure solution, we are truly a one-stop-shop for IP interactive communications service implementation—including planning and development for service providers, enterprises and governments transitioning from legacy to next-generation services.”
“Service providers and enterprises around the world are building increasingly complex IP networks, and complete service integrators like NESIC are essential in ensuring these networks are able to meet demand in terms of capabilities and capacity,” said Dino Di Palma, Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Acme Packet. “Consequently, NESIC is a very important systems integration partner for Acme Packet in Japan and elsewhere around the world.”
