DUBLIN -- Research and Markets(http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/59e1a7/extending_the_it_s) has announced the addition of the "Extending the IT Staff with Service Partners" report to their offering.
IT teams are constantly being challenged. Organizations are increasingly adopting new technologies. They are also becoming more distributed, making it difficult for IT to manage and monitor its services. According to Nemertes recent Unified Communications and Collaboration benchmark, 89% of companies identify their workplace as "virtual." Among them, 29.8% of their employees are virtual, on average. Whether an organizations virtual workers are down the hall, at a branch location, road warriors, or teleworkers, they require IT support to stay connected to the rest of their team.
The IT department's challenge is to make sure these workers get predictable, high-performance access to applications and data no matter where they reside. The problem is organizations have very few locations that have IT personnel physically located in them. For some organizations, especially ones with lean IT staffs, efficient management of their virtual workplace environment continues to be a struggle. Increasingly, IT decision-makers are strategically outsourcing the network, IT and/or application support to some or all locations. This paper will explore the use of professional services for branch locations and specific applications.
