American Business Award Recognizes Company’s Industry Leadership
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Pioneer Services’ President Tom Holcom recently received the American Business Award (called a “Stevie”) for Best Executive of the Year–Financial Services. Called “the business world’s own Oscars” by The New York Post, the award ceremony was held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City Monday, June 22.
“Pioneer Services’ corporate culture and mission are built around serving military families, improving the quality of life for service members, and bettering our communities,” said Holcom. “While those who work at Pioneer Services know the amazing work we do, it is nice to have others in the business community recognize our actions as well.”
Holcom has more than four decades of experience in the banking and finance industry. At Pioneer Services he has developed a strong corporate culture that encourages associate recognition, open communication, entrepreneurial-ownership attitudes, and corporate social responsibility. This led to Holcom previously winning Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) for Social Responsibility in the Midwest by Ernst & Young, and the company receiving a prior Stevie for the Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program and twice being recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in America.
Holcom is a graduate of the Bloch School of Business and Public Administration. He has served on numerous local and national boards, including: Business Executives for National Security; President of both the Command General Staff College Foundation and Truman Medical Center Charitable Foundation; a Park University Trustee; President of the UMKC Bloch School Alumni Board; regional and national President of Angel Flight organization; and many others. In 2008, Holcom helped spearhead efforts to keep the eternal flame from being extinguished at the National World War I Museum, and was named “Man of the Year” by Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Kansas City.
