IMIX Americas Gains Momentum with Four New DR System Installations
Business Wire, June 25, 2009
SomaRad’s Innovative Features & Affordable Pricing Resonate With Customers
STERLING, Va. -- IMIX Americas, Inc., a provider of high-quality digital radiography (DR) products, today announced the first installations of its new IMIXhorizon™ SomaRad DR System in four imaging centers. The innovative SomaRad offers significant cost advantages that bring important DR capabilities to smaller hospitals, imaging centers, and orthopedic practices.
The SomaRad, which was launched at the 2008 RSNA meeting, is a fully functional DR system featuring the company’s proven detector technology. The affordable system provides superior image quality and resolution, a high level of reliability, and flexible functionality. Installations include Centrelake Imaging & Oncology, Covina, Calif.; Lake Station Center, Lake Station, Ind.; Dr. John Stark (private practice), Minneapolis; and North Shore Health Centers, Portage, Ind.
According to Sigrid Smitt-Jeppesen, president and chief executive officer of IMIX Americas, the company is dedicated to helping hospitals and imaging centers acquire digital capabilities during this uncertain economy. “Facilities trying to meet increasing imaging volumes with tight budgets are seeking ways to improve efficiency, capacity, and patient throughput, and they are turning to IMIX Americas for its affordable and proven DR technology,” she said. “Hospitals and imaging centers are under extreme pressure to improve bottom line results. The IMIXhorizon line of DR products allows them to improve workflow and increase efficiencies—and to do it affordably.”
Amar Lapsi, J.D., M.B.A., chief operating officer of Centrelake Imaging & Oncology, said, “The SomaRad was the obvious digital radiology solution to meet our clinical needs. While it is extremely affordable, it doesn’t sacrifice functionality and offers the versatility to handle all of the cases that we perform.”
The SomaRad has a fully motorized, straight-arm stand specifically designed to meet the requirements of smaller facilities—allowing installation in radiographic rooms with as little as 8 feet of ceiling height clearance. The system features remote control operation, image management capabilities, and other key features. The fully functional, yet extremely affordable, solution offers a variety of tools designed to address the needs of general radiography and orthopedic imaging, such as a weight-bearing platform that allows imaging of patients’ feet while standing.
The SomaRad is part of the IMIXhorizon family of DR products that address general and specialty radiography imaging applications, which also includes the PanoRad, NovoRad, and ChiroRad. The company also offers a variety of accessory DR products, including workstation software with an enhanced user interface that delivers improved workflow and productivity.
