ZiteFeed, a New Way for Retailers to Communicate with Customers, Blends E-Commerce and the Social Web to Grow Customer Base and Build Sustainable Loyalty
AUSTIN, Texas -- Appozite, a software company dedicated to integrating e-commerce and the social web, today announced the launch of ZiteFeed (http://www.zitefeed.com), a web-based service delivering retailer feeds directly to e-commerce shoppers.
Currently in invite-only early access phase, ZiteFeed's RSS technology easily enables any e-commerce retailer to deliver timely updates on products, events, and promotions to interested consumers. Users can receive product updates on personalized start pages like MyYahoo! and iGoogle, as well as in feed readers such as Google Reader and Bloglines. ZiteFeed also includes in-depth reporting to track and measure customer activity.
REEDS Jewelers, a full-service multi-channel jewelry retailer, has chosen to partner with Appozite for the official launch of ZiteFeed. Founded in 1946, REEDS operates retail stores in 18 states, a national direct mail catalog and a leading e-commerce website, REEDS.com.
RSS is a key web technology supported by all modern web browsers and used by many popular web sites such as NYTimes.com and CNN.com to deliver updates to readers. In addition, more than 83 million people use personalized start pages such as MyYahoo! and iGoogle.
ZiteFeed launches with Kadro Solutions, Inc. as an integration partner. Kadro provides custom e-commerce services to retailers such as WMF Americas, Emile Henry USA, Berndes Cookware and Rosle USA. Kadro is licensing ZiteFeed technology as part of its Kadro Merchant 5 e-commerce software.
"We're experiencing a revolution in the way consumers find products," says Founder and CEO Hayes Davis. "Shoppers are looking for new ways beyond email to keep up with their favorite store's latest products and promotions. With ZiteFeed, we want to help retailers keep customers informed without inundating their inboxes."
Representatives of Appozite will attend the National Retail Federation (NRF) Annual Conference and Expo in New York City, January 11-14. Media contacts who would like to meet with Appozite at NRF should contact Valerie Kusler at 1-979-255-9948 or vkusler@ketnerbarnes.com.
