Hyundai Electronics Co. of South Korea placed a multiple-system order for atmospheric-pressure chemical vapor deposition (APCVD) equipment with WJ Semiconductor Equipment Group Inc., a subsidiary of Watkins- Johnson Co. Hyundai will use the WJ-1000 and WJ-1500 models from Watkins-Johnson, which is selling most of its semiconductor equipment group assets to Silicon Valley Group Inc.

Hyundai will use the WJ equipment in its Korean and U.S. fabs for pre-metal dielectric and shallow trench isolation applications.
