Big Money in Sci-Fi

Electronic News, April 12, 1999

Austin, Texas-based Applied Science Fiction (ASF), an intellectual property company that creates technologies to facilitate the transition from traditional to digital photography, raised $31.5 million in its second round of venture capital financing. Total investment is now $37 million. New funds will enable expansion of engineering, licensing and branding, and allow ASF to "aggressively" bring new digital imaging technologies to market.

The company touts Digital ICE (image correction enhancement) technology.
