Viewlogic, Altera To Jointly Develop Programmable Logic Design Environment
Electronic News, April 12, 1999
Viewlogic Systems Inc. of Marlboro, Mass. and Altera Corp. of San Jose, Calif. recently announced a technology roadmap to provide design engineers with an advanced design environment for high-density programmable logic devices and their integration in electronic systems, also known as eProducts.
The year-long joint development effort will provide global design teams with a complete front- to-back design automation tools for quick creation and verification of high- density PLDs, to shorten design cycles and reduce time-to-market pressures, the companies said. The toolset will include schematic entry, simulation, logic analysis, synthesis, place and route, and floorplanning, along with team-based design tools and timely Web-based updates.-Ann Steffora
