Credence partners with Chinese designer - The Test Floor - Nation I.C. Design Industrial Base, Integrated Measurement Systems Inc. introduces Integrated Measurement Systems Gemini MS

Electronic News, April 22, 2002 by Jeff Chappell

CREDENCE SYSTEMS CORP. IS PARTNERING with the Chinese government-sponsored and Beijing-based Nation I.C. Design Industrial Base (NICD IB), an IC design center, for SOC testing. NICD IB, with the help of Credence, will provide technology resources to more than 65 local design houses and 10 major universities. Under the partnership, Credence will provide NICD IB with a Quartet SOC production test system. The Quartet tester will be used to provide test services such as program development, engineering test and production test to design houses in the area, Credence said. As part of the relationship, NICD IB and Credence will develop an educational program enabling local university students to receive training in SOC device testing as well as system training on the Quartet.

Credence last week also announced that its subsidiary, Integrated Measurement Systems Inc. (IMS), rolled out the Gemini MS, its latest engineering validation test system for mixed signal and SOC devices. Gemini MS builds on IMS' Vanguard system with a mixed signal software test development environment called IMS-View and a variety of analog instrument options that cover a range of resolution and sampling frequencies from direct current to 2.4GHz. Gemini MS features 336 I/O digital pins at data rates as high as 330Mbytes/sec. plus 96 pins of analog I/O and 16 independent device power supplies. Fast clock channels can be added to provide eight clocks at up to 330MHz, according to IMS.
