Farnell uses Publication Management System - Off the Shelf - Brief Article

Electronic News, May 6, 2002 by Rob Spiegel

Farnell, a unit of london-based premier farnell plc, has published its first catalog using an advanced auto mated system (PMS). The system lets Farnell's publishing team create up to 1,000 catalog pages per day, whereas the previous software produced only 40 pages each day. The Far nell catalogs feature 130,000 products.

The PMS offers both timesaving and data integrity. "It has given us a huge amount of flexibility as we can now quickly create new versions of the international catalogs as well as produce direct mail aimed at very specialist segments of our customer base," said Brian Powell, director of marketing services for Premier Farnell Europe and Asia/Pacific.
