Insight Electronics Hooks Up with inSilicon to Provide Device Controller

Electronic News, June 4, 2001 by Rob Spiegel

LAST WEEK, INSIGHT ELECTRONICS, A MEMEC COMPANY BASED IN San Diego, and in Silicon announced the availability of the USB 1.1 Device Controller for Xilinx Inc. FPG As. The product lets customers achieve quicker time-to-market using proven inSilicon (nasdaq: INSN) technology within the field-upgrade able products from Xilinx (nasdaq: XLNX), according to Insight.

"This semicustom hardware solution lets us configure the operation of the USB device prior to implementation in the FPGA," said Mark Buckhalt, director of IP at MemecCore. "This ensures that customers are getting the functionality they need without wasting valuable FPGA resources."
