Applied Materials Acquires Israeli Laser-Based Wafer Cleaning Company Oramir Semi Equipment

APPLIED MATERIALS INC. HAS SIGNED AN AGREEMENT TO acquire Oramir Semiconductor Equipment Ltd., Yoqneam, Israel, a company specializing in advanced laser-cleaning technologies for semiconductor wafers. The acquisition, which involves an undisclosed cash amount, is pending approval by the Israeli government.
Santa Clara, Calif.-based company (nasdaq: AMAT) said it plans to integrate Oramir with its Process Diagnotics and Control business group, also located in Israel.
