Schlumberger Ships Structural Tester; Teams with IMS Inc

Electronic News, July 2, 2001

SCHLUMBERGER SEMICONDUCTOR SOLUTIONS HAS SHIPPED ITS first production-ready structural tester a month ahead of schedule, the San Jose subsidiary of Schlumberger Ltd., New York, announced. Shipment of the Schlumberger DeFT system followed platform validation and application development completed on 10 beta systems installed at Schlumberger and customer locations, the company said.

Schlumberger also recently teamed up with Integrated Measurement Systems Inc. to provide IC debug and characterization services utilizing each company's latest-generation debug and validation products. The service couples Beaverton, Ore.-based IMS' (nasdaq: IMSC) Vanguard 500Mhz IC Validation System with the Schlumberger IDS Picosecond Imaging Circuit Analyzer (PICA) probe system. The companies plan to co-locate application teams to provide customer support, device preparation and training as well as software licenses for offline analysis of device performance. The first service center will open next month in San Jose.
