Berkeley's Robot Motion Tech Garners More Patents

RICHMOND, CALIF.-BASED BERKELEY PROCESS CONTROL INC. has received three more U.S. patents, including two additional ones for its Autocalibration wafer-handling robot technology. The newest Autocalibration patents cover Berkeley's self-teaching robotic carrier-handling system and self-teaching robotic wafer-handling system.

According to the company, its Autocalibration technology completely eliminates robot point teaching during tool installation, configuration and maintenance. Its technology allows a robot to locate system objects without the need for operator or technician assistance.
