NORTH AMERICAN-BASED manufacturers of semiconductor equipment reported $2.7 billion in orders for November, 8 percent lower than the orders logged for October, and a book-to-bill ratio of 1.12, according to a recent report from Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI). A 1,12 book-to-bill means that orders were 12 percent higher than shipments.
SEMI said that the lower order level for November was still 62 percent more than the $1.7 billion in orders posted in November 1999.
