Richardson Electronics Makes Swedish Acquisition

LAFOX, ILL.-BASED DISTRIBUTOR RICHARDSON ELECTRONICS LTD., last week announced the acquisition of Sangus AB of Stockholm, Sweden. Founded in 1983, Sangus is a distributor and manufacturers' representative specializing in design-in and engineering support for RF, microwave and fiber optics to the wireless and communications markets in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark.

Terms of the deal were not released. Richardson (nasdaq: RELL) said it expects the acquisition to be accretive to earnings this year. The new company will be known as Sangus Richardson and will combine the two companies' current product offerings through a strategy of engineered solutions and total design support.
