Siliconix, Fairchild settle lawsuit - The Circuit - Brief Article
Electronic News, July 29, 2002
SILICONIX INC., AN 80.4 PERCENT OWNED SUBsidiary of Vishay Intertechnology Inc., last week said it has settled its patent infringement lawsuit against Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc.
Although specific terms of the settlement were not disclosed, Siliconix said it has granted Fairchild a license for two of its patents.
Siliconix filed the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, alleging that certain Fairchild products infringed two Siliconix patents related to power trench MOSFET products.
Siliconix said the settlement is the result of the companies' desire to establish a long-term cooperative business relationship and to avoid future litigation.
