AVNET HALL-MARK, THE COMPUTER ARM OF PHOENIX-BASED Avnet Inc., and IBM have initiated a Life Sciences Partnership Program for Avnet's value-added resellers (VAR). According to Fred Cuen, senior VP and general manager of Avnet Hall-Mark's IBM business unit, the program was formed to help its VAR community identify and target growth opportunities.

"The life sciences sector is experiencing a very strong growth rate of about 19 percent," Cuen said. "From an IT perspective, this means exceptional opportunities for our VARs, especially in the areas of storage high-performance computing and knowledge of database management."
