PCB book-to-bill stays steady at 0.96 - The Package - Printed circuit board industry - Brief Article

THE U.S. PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD INDUSTRY book-to-bill ratio held steady in June at 0.96, identical to the May ratio. It had been 0.94 in April, 0.98 in March, and right at parity, 1.0 in February.

The Northbrook, Ill.-based IPC--Association Connecting Electronics Industries added that sales billed (shipments) in June 2002 decreased 19.1 percent from June 2001 and orders booked decreased 13.8 percent from June 2001.

Compared to 2001, bookings of PCBs are down 23.3 percent year-to-date, while shipments of PCBs are down 33.4 percent year-to-date, according to IPC's monthly statistical program.
