Samsung Rolls DDR DRAM Chips

SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS Co. LTD. last week said that it has begun volume production on l28Mbit and 256Mbit double-data rate (DDR) DRAM chips that transmit data at 333Mbit/sec. Samples of both devices, which were produced using 0.15-micron technology, are available now.
The chips operate at 166MHz, or more than twice as fast as PC-133 SDRAM and 25 percent faster than the DDR266 that operates at 133MHz, according to Seoul, South Korea-based Samsung.
