MKS Forms Advanced Process Control Group

ANDOVER, MASS.-BASED MKS Instruments Inc. is combining its efforts in gas analysis and film metrology by forming an Advanced Process Control (APC) product group within the company. Based on the combination of the Spectra and On-Line product groups, the APC group will provide measurement technologies to monitor and control manufacturing processes in the semiconductor and optoelectronic industries, MKS said.

Peter Solomon, founder and president of OnLine Technologies, a company that MKS (nasdaq: MKSI) acquired in April, will be at the helm of the APC group.
