Electronic News, Sept 2, 2002 by Suzanne Deffree
CLAUDIO G. LODDO, CEO AT 1ST SILICON MALAYSIA Sdn. Bhd., has completed his contract and has retired from the foundry, the company said late last week. No other reason for his departure was given.
The move does not seem to be an upsetting one to 1st Silicon or Loddo, who spoke positively about 1st Silicon, calling his tenure there an exciting challenge.
"The company was established during the Asian financial crisis and downturn in the worldwide semiconductor industry," Loddo said in a statement. "Despite the fluctuating market conditions, 1st Silicon is in production and has adequate financial resources to sustain its growth."
Loddo, who was said to be instrumental in founding the company in 1998, has been CEO for the past four years. COO W. J. Nelson will take over his duties.
