PartMiner Strikes Gold

Cahners Business Information, Newton, Mass., has made a 15 percent minority investment in Internet company PartMiner Inc., New York. PartMiner's Electronic Commerce Free Trade Zone serves as an online marketplace for electronic components. It will allow users to research, locate and purchase products from component suppliers.
Users will be able to access inventories and datasheets, manage their bill of materials and process requests for quotations (RFQs) through the site. Under terms of this deal, PartMiner will become the exclusive e-commerce provider at www.e-insite.net, Cahners' electronics industry Web site.
