Electronic News, Oct 7, 2002 by Bernard Levine
A SUPPLIER OF WET-DISPENSED THERMAL interface materials (TIMs), Dow Corning Electronics said it would deepen its commitment to end-users by entering the fabricated thermal materials market. Phase change materials are now available with traditional pads and films slated for release by year's end. The company plans to continue to build its fabricated materials product line with new additions on an ongoing basis.
"By broadening our product line to include fabricated materials, we aim to offer end-users the convenience of a single source for all of their thermal management material needs," said Jeroen Bloemhard, global marketing manager thermally conductive materials, Dow Corning Electronics.
The new fabricated product line represents the next phase of Dow Coming Electronics' marketing strategy for TIMs. For the last 40 years, the company has provided base materials to finished products suppliers. In the late 1990s, the company began its transition into the end-use market by supplying wet-dispensed TIMs, including adhesives, encapsulants, compounds and gels.
