Avnet debuts design program - Off the Shelf - Brief Article
Electronic News, Oct 7, 2002 by Rob Spiegel
AVNET DESIGN SERVICES (ADS), A DIVISION OF PHOENIX-based Avnet Inc., last week introduced the Avnet Design Service Provider, a program that pools top engineering design service companies in North America to provide customers with board- and system-level solutions. According to Avnet, customers seeking third-party design assistance can now gain access to a select group of prescreened and certified design service providers through the program.
"As a result of design complexities, designers often do not have the in-house expertise or the resources to bring a product to market in the time required," said Jim Schaeffer, director and VP of Avnet Design Services. "ADS, through a combination of its Avalon Reference Design System and Design Service Providers, can offer a more comprehensive time-to-market solution to designers."
