BELL MICROPRODUCTS INC. OF SAN JOSE ANNOUNCED three new distribution agreements with Imation Corp., Storage Technology Corp. (StorageTek) and ProjectLab Pty. Ltd. Under the deal with Imation of Oakdale, Minn., Bell will join the IBM Diamond Distributor Program, allowing access to IBM-branded media to storage resellers purchasing from Bell. The deal includes IBM LTO Ultrium and IBM TotalStorage Enterprise 3590 cartridges. "This agreement ensures that IBM storage resellers and Bell Microproducts' customers have faster and easier access to Imation's data storage and information management business at the time the IBM hardware is purchased," said Stephen Dwyer, business development manager.

In a separate agreement, Bell media will distribute Louisville, Colo.-based StorageTek's full product line, including tape automation, disk subsystems and storage networking products. "Our customers will benefit greatly from the addition of StorageTek's line of open systems tape automation products," said Phil Roussey, Bell's executive VP of enterprise distribution.

Bell also reached an exclusive distribution agreement with ProjectLab, an Australian company that specializes in the design and sale of intelligent robotic CD/DVD storage devices. Bell will handle the company's Century CD storage systems. "Century CD can enhance data storage and retrieval in many computing environments," said Denis Bilodeau, VP of computer products marketing at Bell.
