Cabot Microelectronics reports flat revenue - The Fab Line

Electronic News, Feb 11, 2002

SLURRY SUPPLIER CABOT MICROELECTRONICS CORP. REPORTED revenue for its first fiscal quarter ended Dec. 31 of $51 million, essentially flat on a sequential basis with revenue in the fourth fiscal quarter. Operating expenses of $13.3 million were up 3 percent sequentially to $0.4 million, principally as a result of higher research and development spending, Cabot said.

Net earnings of $9 million, or 37 cents per diluted share, were down sequentially by $200,000, or 2 percent from the previous quarter. Revenues remained relatively flat over the last three quarters, possibly indicating a bottom to the current cycle, Cabot said.
