Nu Horizons Electronics and Xilinx offer design tool - Off the Shelf - Brief Article

NU HORIZONS ELECTRONICS CORP. OF MELVILLE, N.Y., AND San Jose-based Xilinx Inc. are marketing the Engineering Solutions Platform. According to a joint release, the platform is a high-end modular development solution based on Xilinx Virtex-II FPGAs and is designed to shorten product development times, lower costs and improve product quality. "This is a totally new approach to system design development," said Arthur Nadata, CEO of Nu Horizons. "This evaluation tool is different in that we offer a modular solution of development boards."

"System architects and developers are looking for tools to help them optimize their designs for cost and performance. With the Nu Horizons platform, multiple chip designs and interoperability can now be done simultaneously," said Sandeep Vij, VP of worldwide marketing at Xilinx.
