Electronic News, July 1, 1996 by Sarah Cohen

In-Stat analyst Ms. Putscher noted that many of the companies involved in the ownership of WaferTech have worked with TSMC before."TSMC already provides a lot of silicon to Altera, though Altera may still be getting silicon from Chartered Semiconductors." Analog Devices has been manufacturing digital and mixed-signal ICs in Taiwan for approximately five years. And ISSI and TSMC have had a collaborative relationship since 1989 for process development, combining TSMC's manufacturing with ISSI's SRAM and flash memory products.

ISSI's Mr. Fischer stated, "You can't pick a stronger manufacturing partner than TSMC. They're the largest foundry-only company in the world."
