Packard Bell NEC Changes

Electronic News, July 13, 1998

The rethinking at NEC follows Packard Bell NEC Chairman, President/CEO Beny Alagem's recent decision to resign. He declined NEC and Groupe Bull's request to remain chairman, opting instead to pursue other interests, citing fundamental differences with shareholders NEC and Groupe Bull. In his stead, Packard Bell NEC named Alain Couder of Groupe Bull as chairman of the executive committee of the board of directors, ending a seven-month search for an heir apparent to Mr.

Alagem. The board plans to name him president/CEO on or before Oct. 1.
