Electronic News, August 17, 1998 by Chad Fasca, Ann Steffora
Cygnus has recently rolled out the GNUPro Toolkit 98r1, an open-source compiler and debugger toolchain for native and embedded software development. The Cygnus GNUPro Toolkit provides access to an open-source code base for flexibility during the design cycle; mission-critical support; and a single-source toolchain for portability and code reuse.
The GNUPro Toolkit 98r1 includes ANSI-conforming C/C compilers, a macro-assembler, the Cygnus GNUPro debugger, binary utilities and libraries. New host platforms include AIX4.2, Red Hat Linux 5.0 and Solaris 2.6. Pricing for Cygnus GNUPro Toolkit 98r1 starts at $7,495 for native tools, and $9,995 for embedded tools, including a one-year support contract for up to five developers.
