The Fab Line: Canon U.S.A - new facility in San Jose, CA - Company Operations - Brief Article

Electronic News, August 17, 1998 by Dylan McGrath, Chad Fasca

Canon U.S.A. began construction of a 172,000-square-foot facility in San Jose, Calif., to house its northern California operations and the new headquarters of its Semiconductor Equipment division. Canon said the facility would enhance the process and applications development, product demonstration, and training support this division provides to U.S.-based semiconductor manufacturers.

The regional operation centers of several other product divisions, along with Canon Information Systems, the software company that is part of Canon's global R&D network, will also occupy the building. Completion is scheduled for 2Q99. Canon said the new facility also will provide immediate support to all six U.S. regional operations centers where Canon will continue to invest in local initiatives, such as expert engineering delegations and process support teams.
