Waiting for merced - Texas Instruments TPS5120 power supply - Brief Article - Product Announcement
Electronic News, Oct 5, 1998
The new TPS5210 power supply controller from Texas Instruments is thought to be the first of its kind that is specifically designed for the forthcoming Merced microprocessor from Intel. The TPS5210 features programmable output voltage range of 1.3V to 3.5V, determined by a 5-bit integrated DAC. It consumes 120 milliwatts of power and, according to TI, produces a printed circuit board footprint that is 50 percent smaller than a comparable discrete solution.
The TPS5210 is available in 28-pin SOIC package and a PowerPAD package priced at $2.25 in quantities of 10,000.
