Some wise guy made our stems into our snouts! Read on to make your own

Ranger Rick, Nov 1, 1998

When you choose a pumpkin for carving, look at what kind of nose the stem will make. Mark with a felt pen where you want to cut the mouth and eyes. Ask an adult to help carve out just the outer skin of the pumpkin. You will see the lighter-colored flesh underneath the orange skin. Carve some teeth in the mouth as shown here. Add dried beans, raisins, or dark pebbles to the eyes. You might think this is the silliest-looking pumpkin you've ever made, and we'd love to see it. Take a photo of it and mail it to Ranger Rick, Dept. PC 8925 Leesburg Pike Vienna, VA 22184
